FOCUSED E-COMMERCE PLAYBOOK

Test the first order before you buy the inventory.

Put one product, its real delivery costs, and one small acquisition test in the same frame. The result is an illustrative decision aid—not a forecast, checkout, or promise of profitability.

WORKSHEET
Pressure-test one first order.
Keep the test narrow. Verify the supplier or landed product cost, get a shipping or fulfillment quote, observe returns, and count purchases from one small acquisition test. This page records nothing and does not prove demand or profitability.

1. Product costs

Start with the one product or narrow category you want to test.

Name the one product or category to test, not a broad store.

Customer price before treating discounts or tax as contribution.

Supplier or manufacturer cost per unit; use a defendable landed-cost assumption where possible.

Mailer, box, insert, and other per-order packaging.

2. Fulfillment

Get a shipping or fulfillment quote, or write down an explicit assumption for getting one order to the customer.

Expected carrier or shipping charge for one order.

3PL or handling cost, or your best explicit fulfillment assumption.

Per-order allowance for returns, replacements, or damage. Zero is allowed when there is no evidence yet.

3. Customer acquisition cost

Attach spend and purchases to the same small test window.

Name the one channel or category-specific community to test first.

Spend attached to the same test window.

Count first-time buyers, not clicks, impressions, or followers.

Costs can be zero, but selling price and customer count must be positive. Answers stay in this browser and are not saved.
